Lake Murray after the rains
Posted by George J Janczyn on December 24, 2010
The Union-Tribune reports that Lake Murray spilled for the first time ever. I’m not surprised, because the reservoir was quite full already before the rains began. Even so, reportedly very little water actually made it down the spillway.
There’s no publicly accessible view of the spillway, but here’s a Bing Bird’s Eye view that I grabbed a few years ago. That trickle you see is actually runoff coming from the brow ditch that encircles the reservoir. |

Since I live close to the lake it wasn’t much trouble to get some shots of the shoreline. Click for enlargements.
