Emergency funding for beach area storm drain projects

Posted by George J Janczyn on May 20, 2010

Two storm water pump stations, one in Mission Beach and one in Pacific Beach, were unable to handle storm water runoff in January of this year. The rains far exceeded the pumping capacity of the stations and caused flooding and damage in the surrounding beach areas.

The San Diego City Council will vote Tuesday May 25 on a resolution to expend emergency funds in the amount of $1,354,752 to repair and upgrade the two storm water pump stations. City Council docket item S500.
