Water facilities

The Alvarado Water Treatment Plant (200 MGD) at Lake Murray recently upgraded its disinfection method from chlorine to ozone. The plant's three storage reservoirs with flat concrete roofs are fitted with photovoltaic panels generating 20% of the plant's power needs.
