Landscape watering restrictions change on June 1

Posted by George J. Janczyn on May 19, 2010

Some people may not be aware that between Nov 1 and June 1, San Diego’s landscape watering rules not only limit watering to three days per week before 10am or after 4pm, but each watering session is limited to 7 minutes.

On June 1, the allowable times change to before 10am or after 6pm, and each watering session may last 10 minutes.

* Homes with odd-numbered addresses can water: Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday
* Homes with even-numbered addresses can water: Saturday, Monday & Wednesday
* Apartments, Condos and Businesses can water: Monday, Wednesday & Friday

(these rules do not apply to drip, micro-irrigation, stream rotor, rotary heads, hose end sprinklers with timers or valves operated by a weather-based irrigation controller).
